Commenting On XHTML Table Gen
Sorry about all the confusion. I’ve been in the midst of migrating a lot of pages on my server to fit within my database. I still have plans to update the XHTML Table Generator. Right now the only thing holding me back is time. The basic version is still available below. I’ll update this page with the new version as soon it is available.
[ Launch XHTML Table Generator ]
Enjoy the script. I welcome comments if you have any.

I am a regular visitor to this application. I use it all the time. It’s been a great help. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Thank you, John. Do you have any recommendations for improvement? I will be updating this app for later use and I am looking for suggestions.
Back again
If I really think about it… My only recommendation would be to maybe add a “vertical align” drop-down field for cell properties.
Doesn’t work on Internet Explorer
Yes, IE… not my favorite subject. What version? I don’t even come close to supporting IE6. I really only support IE8. Which that works.
Awsome, great time saver!
I find producing tables quite hard and this generator is wonderful. It would be great if column widths could be included and an option for the outside border. The option to put left left does not seem to work. It is, however, a great programme.
I love your work. Pretty simple and clean. If you can add more functions or elements this generator would be the best.
Congrats,
Betty
Thanks for the feedback roger and betty. I’ll see what I can do. Currently, I am in the midst of learning some of the new html5 features. The web is in a bit of a shift right now and I’m not sure how much longer this app will be relavant as is.

I fixed the align left issue. There seemed to be a problem with the “width” style staying 100%. If you change the width of the table and then select right or left you will see the visual change.
-John
I went ahead and added the vertical-align property.
Thanks everyone. Let me know if you find anything else that needs tweaking.
Lovely app! I used it to create a table for use in WordPress and it took all of 2 minutes. I’ve tried plugins to avoid hand-coding and they made adding a simple table far too complex. Appreciate the simplicity of use … you have made this uber-easy!
Recommendations? Expanding on Roger’s idea … It would be nice to optionally create widths of columns based on a percentage. I do like how the columns currently expand/contract based on longest word, but selecting your own percentage would give finer control.
Wonderful app, saved me hours!
Only addition I can think of would be to add separate colour options for heading rows or columns.
Thank you
Great idea. I’ve been planning to add a heading row; just need to block out some time for it. A column heading is a good idea too. Thanks for the feedback, Dogsbody.
Hi, I resell webhosting & am making a site. My plan is to provide tools and instructions for non-techy users to make their own websites using templates, open source or by any other mean’s. I come across your generator and think it’s great! I just used it to quickly make a selection table for the site I’m working on now. Ideal! With your permission, I would like to provide a link to it from my ‘resource’ section.
Good work, I look forward to seeing what you do with the next version.
Chris,
That would be fine.
I think your service is great. No downloads – just get it done right away, great! And complete css-info as well. Just what I was looking for. Thank you for saving me a lot of hours!
very nice tool thanks
Thanks for the table generator mate.
I think this is great. It’s easy to and quick to use.
This would be even better if the xhtml generated used and instead of .
I love the table generator. Thanks for making it.
Hi I would love to see an add-on to be able to also select column colours.
As per: http://www.affineonlighting.com/PowerLinear.html
I am unsure how to modify the css code to show it this way; or similar! I will try to figure it out but it might be cool to have it built-in.
Thanks, this thing is really cool.
Would like the abiltiy to resize the columns – pls
love love love it. only problem is i can get text in the right col to align vertically with images in the left col. they show up in their own col, but under the image.
the page itself is great but this screensaver function is really really annoing when you work n two screens….
Hi there, the las thing from getting me to move the site I’m working on from a table based layout to CSS was the number of tables in it.
Your generator is fantastic and thanks for providing it….
Brilliant 10/10 was looking for something like this a long time !
love it ..but not enough styling.. border styles for example. Would be cool to also set default font values.
Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback.
I do plan on updating this generator, and the entire site, but I am in the midst of some heavy wedding planning-which is good news
. Just hang in there and please be patient with me. Thanks again.
I tried your table generator and there is a problem with the cell allignment. I set it to middle and it goes back to default when I click “draw”. also, I need to have a white space between the cells. can’t do that on your program. finally, I would like to see text properties added such as size and justification for the cells.
Missing: separate heading rows and/or column styles.
your table is very nice!
thanks for posting it.
if you want to share the “holy grail” with us – then add 1% gradient option to it….
It sucks, When i copy the code of a table i made. nothing happens
Marcel, where are you copying the code of the table to? You need to also copy the CSS code in order to apply the styling to the table.
Thank you för this grat app, i allways had som problems builing tables, the html table isn that sef anymore, but this app helps alot, thanks again for a grat work
Hi this is really cool. How would I make each column the same width? Could column width be a new feature?
Also would like to know how to control column color, this could also be a cool new feature.
Thanks I really enjoy this generator!
I would like to specify text color
I would like to not have border size go back to 1 if specified as 0 after table is generated.
Great Stuff !!!
